House concerts?
Yes! I’ll come to your living room, den, garage, barn, patio, back porch, back yard, and play. Actually, my songs are written to be heard in intimate settings without amplification, and my goal of relating directly to the audience happens more easily there. If the space requires it, though, I’ll bring the necessary gear.
What’s involved? We agree on a date, and you invite as many family and friends as you feel comfortable hosting (15 or more is a good number). There could be a potluck with BYOB, you could provide food and drinks, or it could be a dessert fest. The guests come to hear a concert in a comfortable, intimate, listening-room setting, and to share time together. Depending on what you and I decide, we can do one long (1:15 or so) set or two shorter (0:45 or so) ones. The eating can come before, between, or after the music.
What will it cost you? The work it takes to get things ready, mostly. Ask your guests to donate $10-$15 per person to cover my expenses. And If you could have a table set up for me to sell CDs, that would be good.
If you have questions, or are interested in hosting, please contact me.
Testimonial from a satisfied attendee:
Terry, Thank you for including me in Saturday’s music event at your home… I was … very impressed with the level of Ted’s talent, creativity and the depth of character reflected in his music. His music was altogether captivating and at times deeply moving. … –Phil
